Hi! I'm Lauren, better known in the fitness world as Coach L. I'm a former hurdler for the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) & the great US of A! I got involved in fitness when I started personal training during the summer while in college. Then, while competing professionally, I became certified in pilates, and in several areas of track & field.  

 

As the years passed, I absorbed a wealth of knowledge through research, educational programs, mentorships and personal experience. I was using this knowledge to coach, but that wasn't enough. As an advocate for fitness, it bothered me to hear people say they dread working out because it wasn't fun or that healthy food was terrible and lacked flavor. WHAT?! I couldn't believe it so, I decided to do something about it. I took all the stuff I have learned, refined it, and tah-dah  Fit Life Ignited was created.

Coach L is a former professional track athlete, who's specialty was the 100m hurdles. After competing for over 10 years, this University of Houston Alum returned to the college level to give back to the sport that had given her so much. She began her coaching career at the Academy of Art University, where they were 2x NCAA Div 2 Track & Field Champions. Coach L. then coached at West Point (USMA) beating Navy and coaching each of her athletes to a new personal best. She continued her coaching at Altis, assisting with with some of the world's greatest athletes. Coach L. made her way back to Houston and has been working with the Episcopal High School. When she isn't coaching, Coach L. is probably out traveling the world exploring new places, learning about the different cultures. She loves spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. You can also catch her at all types of sporting events, on somebody's dance floor, peeking into boutiques (and the Nike store), or cuddling up on the couch with a new best selling novel. An active nature keeps her ready for new adventures and finding things to add to her bucket list...sky diving anyone?
